Choosing Products for Your Website

eBay members traded more than $53 billion worth of merchandise last year. Nearly one million people depend on the auction web site to earn a huge income from eBay every years.

What you have to sell on your website? You can choose to sell your own item or someone else items. You can choose to sell one product or many products. You would be to sell only one product but a line of related products and spend your time to promote it. Like the old adage said that "don't put all your eggs in one basket".

This option opens up the doorway pages to your web site. The biggest advantage is that it keeps the door open to repeat sales from your current customers. If you are selling only one item, it requires that you continually find new customers. However, if you have a line of products, then your established customers become a very valuable asset. If they are happy with their purchase, they are likely to buy from you again and again.

First, you get the funds from the sale, not just a small commission. Secondly, you could have your own affiliate code and have others selling your item for you. However, in this method, you have the headache of running the show, keeping the books, and all the various responsibilities that come with fame and riches.

Right now there are a lot of affiliate programs, so you have to be careful. The main advantage to selling someone else merchandise is the avoidance of responsibility and severe headaches. You just do some marketing, sell some products, get your monthly commission check, and do it all over again.
